Yuletide Carols Being Sung by a Choir
One of the pleasures of a holiday stay at Walt Disney World is the seasonal entertainment. Everywhere you go, the air is filled with the sounds of the season. The parades adopt a holiday score; the parks ring with Christmas cheer; even the ambient music at the resorts takes a yuletide turn.
Fountains bounce and lights twinkle to a holiday beat. The Voices of Liberty appear in bonnets and top hats at the American Adventure for special performances of a decidedly wintry repertoire. Of course, they also join the cast member and guest choruses for the annual Candlelight Processionals.
You’ll hear cheerful Christmas music as you wait for the busses at Downtown Disney, and enjoy sidewalk choral offerings in the evenings. Arrive at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in time for the park opening ceremonies and enjoy the carolers at the holiday tree.
As Christmas approaches, the resorts begin a schedule of nightly concerts featuring small chamber ensembles, bell ringers, and choruses. A favorite is the Cast Member Choir at the Wilderness Lodge which includes a number of executives. They don red and white scarves and gather around the lobby tree to sing carols, much to the delight of both visitors and other cast members.
Guests can expect to be enlisted as participants, so polish up your tambourine and sleigh bell skills and make sure you know at least two verses of every Christmas song!
Circle of Life
Tucked away at Camp Minnie-Mickey in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is perhaps the best stage show at the Walt Disney World Resort, Festival of the Lion King. Filled with color and excitement, unforgettable music, audience interaction, dance, acrobatics, puppetry, even stiltwalking; this lavish production has it all.
Larger-than-life animated figures of the animal characters, brilliantly-costumed singers, dancers, and gymnasts provide non-stop entertainment. The audience is treated to quiet, mesmerizing performances, then caught up in the sweeping pageantry of a joyous African celebration. It is everything that great theater should be: engaging, inspiring, moving.
The air-conditioned theater-in-the-round seats more than 1000 guests. Perfect for all ages, this is a very popular attraction and the lines can be long. We suggest arriving at the park early and attending the first show of the day.

Winging It
With the big shows at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo –The Musical, drawing all the crowds, one of the most appealing attractions at Walt Disney World is often overlooked. It’s the wonderful Flights of Wonder, presented several times each day in its own atmospheric amphitheater located in Asia.
Much attention has been paid to Groucho, the amazing singing parrot with his repertoire of seven songs and engaging personality, but there are more than twenty species of fascinating birds showcased in this mesmerizing presentation. Many of the “stunts” performed by these creatures are actually examples of their natural abilities. It’s always amazing to watch demonstrations of the instinctive behaviors, the sheer cleverness, of these beautiful animals.
Next time you’re in the park, fly on over to the Caravan Stage – we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
