Sometimes, planning a vacation to Walt Disney World can be a bit overwhelming.  There are a seemingly infinite number of things to see and do and so many decisions to be made.  At Whimsical World Travel, we like to break this down into manageable pieces by concentrating first on the major components of the trip.

There are generally five key areas that need to be addressed:  transportation, accommodations, park admission, dining, and recreation.  Years ago, the convenience of bundling these together came at a premium.  Disney packages were more expensive than the same options purchased separately.  For some time now, however, packages have provided equal or better value.  Currently, Disney offers three distinct choices:  the basic “Magic Your Way” package, the “Magic Your Way Premium Package” also called the “Premium Plan,” and the “Magic Your Way Platinum Package” also referred to as the “Platinum Plan.”

While the names have sometimes changed and there have been minor modifications to the inclusions and benefits, all three offer the following:

• Accommodations at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel

• Customizable Disney Theme Park tickets

• Complimentary Disney’s Magical Express airport transfers

• Commemorative luggage tags

• Voucher packet of dining and recreation discounts

It’s the differences amongst the three that usually cause the most confusion.  Over the next few weeks, we’ll be reviewing each package and examining the elements that are included as well as the available additions.  Being knowledgeable about your options will help you make the best choices for your next Walt Disney World vacation!
